เมื่อวันที่ 12 เมษายน 2568 นายสุรเชษฐ์ บุญธินันท์ กงสุลใหญ่ ณ เมืองการาจี เป็นประธานในพิธีเปิดงานสงกรานต์ ณ ศูนย์วัฒนธรรมปากีสถาน-อเมริกัน โดยงานจัดขึ้นร่วมกับสภาศิลปะแห่งชาติปากีสถาน (PNCA) และศูนย์วัฒนธรรมปากีสถาน-อเมริกัน (PACC) เพื่อเฉลิมฉลองวันปีใหม่ไทย และเพื่อเฉลิมฉลองครบรอบ 75 ปี ความสัมพันธ์ทางการทูตระหว่างไทย-ปากีสถาน การจัดงานในครั้งนี้ถือว่า ประสบความสำเร็จเป็นอย่างดี โดยมีแขกผู้มีเกียรติและสื่อมวลชนเข้าร่วมงานกว่า 200 คน ในระหว่างการกล่าวสุนทรพจน์ กงสุลใหญ่ฯ ได้เน้นย้ำถึงความสำคัญของประเพณีสงกรานต์และการที่ยูเนสโกได้ขึ้นทะเบียนประเพณีสงกรานต์ให้เป็นมรดกโลก พร้อมทั้งกล่าวขอบคุณผู้มีส่วนเกี่ยวข้องที่ทำให้การจัดงานครั้งนี้ประสบผลสำเร็จ รวมทั้งได้ให้คำมั่นว่า จะพยายามทำให้ดีที่สุดเพื่อกระชับความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างสองประเทศ หลังจากนั้น แขกผู้มีเกียรติได้รับชมการแสดงทางวัฒนธรรมต่างๆ จากไทยและปากีสถาน

หลังจากการแสดงทางวัฒนธรรมแล้ว แขกได้รับเชิญให้ลองชิมอาหารไทยและร่วมกิจกรรมการละเล่นตามประเพณีสงกรานต์ รวมทั้งการรดน้ำดำหัวและการสาดน้ำใส่กัน

On 12 April 2025, Mr. Surashete Boontinand, Consul General of Thailand to Karachi presided over the opening ceremony of the Songkran Festival at the Pakistan American Cultural Center, Karachi. The event was held in coordination with the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) and the Pakistan American Cultural Center (PACC) with a view to celebrating the Thai New Year and 75th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Thailand and Pakistan. The event was a great success, with over 200 guests and members of media in attendance. During his speech, the Consul General emphasized the significance of Songkran and its inscription as the UNESCO World lntangible Heritage of Humanity. He thanked those involved in making the event possible and assured the audience that he would do his best to deepen the amicable relationship between the two countries. Later, the guests were entertained with a variety of cultural performances from Thailand and Pakistan.

After the performances, the guests were invited to try Thai food and participate in Songkran's water fight, along with other Thai cultural traditions that continued throughout the night.
