17 July 2020:  CG met with Mr. Azhar Chaudhry, Managing Director PTBH, and Mr. Ghazali Akhtar, Director PTBH, at the CG's residence, discussing ways forward to improve Pak-Thai business and trade during COVID-19 situation. PTBH introduced CG their counterparts in Thailand, having CG talk with the Thai business counterparts who have experiences in trade and business between the two countries. 

 

PTBH has seen the opportunities to utilise IT to get two-country business ongoing. Although there is a limit in people travelling, the goods and cargos face no restrictions. Therefore, PTBH's introduced the Pakistan-Thai online meeting which will be held through ZOOM application on Wed 22 July 2020 at 4PM (Pakistan time) or 6PM (Thailand time) where both sides who are interested in exploring their businesses opportunities could have the chances to canvass their economic anticipation with PTBH's business experts and businessmen.

 

Apart from PTBH's proposal, CG added some points extracted from RTCG’s plans, suggesting PTBH to work on on Thai halal food by doing research on the prospect of Thai halal food in Pakistan, and pointing out that due to COVID-19, the Royal Thai Consulate General 's fund for a trip to participate Thailand Halal Assembly in Bangkok in Dec 2020 would not be possible. CG also expressed his “new normal” view on how to use internet of things to promote Thai trade and business instead of having usual old-styled/old-fashioned trade fair.
