Mr. Thatree Chauvachata, Consul General of Thailand, and Mr.Apipan Cheecharoen, Deputy Consul General, visited the Home Department on 28 February 2016 and were welcomed by Mr. Abdul Kabi Kazi, Secretary, Home Department, Government of Sindh. The Consulate was given an overview of the situation between Pakistan and India. Mr. Kazi informed the participants about the various immediate measures for security, especially to foreigners. Law enforcers and the administration engaged in a flurry of activities to chalk out a strategy to meet any eventuality in case of war. Leaves of all police officers/officials have been cancelled and they have been directed to report at their respective places. Reserve police platoons and police commandoes and other personnel would be put in a ready position. Mr Kazi said that the implementation of the “war book” had been started. He said control rooms were being set up across the province for health, food, energy and disaster management. Mr. Apipan briefed Mr. Kazi on 150 Thai nationals in Sindh: 120 with Madrassa and 30 with Pakistani family.
