Thai Cooking Demonstrations

 

In the 61st year of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Pakistan, the Royal Thai Embassy has embarked on new projects aiming at strengthening people to people’s contacts. Recently, it has hosted a series of the “Taste of Thailand” or Thai cooking demonstrations during June – July 2012, to introduce to the Pakistani public Thai culture and tourism through stage presentations, cooking demonstrations, food tasting as well as fruit and vegetable carvings.

On 22 June 2012, the Royal Thai Embassy, in collaboration with the Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management, one of a few private cooking and tourism management schools in Pakistan, organised the “Taste of Thailand” at Regalia Hotel in Islamabad. Approximately 110 participants consisting of students, domestic and working women attended the event.

On 12 July 2012, with the Hashoo Foundation, the Royal Thai Embassy co-organised the “Taste of Thailand” at Pearl Continental Hotel, Rawalpindi to introduce Thai culture and history to the 60-70 trainees of Hashoo Foundation’s Culinary Arts Programme. Attendance also included the hotel’s cooking staff as well as members of the Hashoo Foundation.

On 16 July 2012, the Royal Thai Embassy, in collaboration with Punjab College, hosted the “Taste of Thailand” at Punjab College Auditorium, Rawalpindi Campus, to introduce Thai culture and history to approximately 100 attendees consisting of medical students, faculty members as well as their spouses and families attended the event.

The events indeed owed its success to the enthusiasm of both sides, the Thais and the Pakistanis, to cooperate to bring about even closer relations.
