เมื่อวันที่ 18 กันยายน 2568 สถานกงสุลใหญ่ ณ เมืองการาจี และสมาคมนักศึกษาไทยในเมืองการาจี พร้อมด้วย Greenwich University ได้ร่วมเป็นเจ้าภาพจัดการแข่งขันฟุตบอลเชื่อมความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างนักศึกษา ภายใต้ชื่อ “Karachi’s International Student Friendly Football Tournament 2025” โดยมีนักศึกษาจากชาติต่างๆ เข้าร่วมการแข่งขัน 8 ทีม ประกอบด้วย อินโดนีเซีย มาเลเซีย ไนจีเรีย ปากีสถาน (2 ทีม) และไทย (3 ทีม)

การจัดกิจกรรมดังกล่าวมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อให้นักศึกษาไทยได้ใช้เวลานอกชั้นเรียนให้เป็นประโยชน์ และเป็นการเปิดโลกทัศน์การสร้างความสัมพันธ์และแลกเปลี่ยนด้านวัฒนธรรมกับนักศึกษาต่างชาติผ่านการเล่นฟุตบอลซึ่งเป็นกีฬายอดนิยมของคนไทย โดยในการกล่าวเปิดการแข่งขัน นายสุรเชษฐ์ บุญธินันท์ กงสุลใหญ่ ณ เมืองการาจี ได้ให้โอวาทแก่นักศึกษาว่า ขอให้ใช้กีฬาฟุตบอลเป็นสะพานเชื่อมความสัมพันธ์และสร้างความสามัคคีระหว่างนักศึกษาจากประเทศต่าง ๆ ขอให้เล่นฟุตบอลให้สนุกโดยไม่คำนึงถึงผลการแข่งขันให้มากนัก แต่สิ่งที่สำคัญที่สุดคือการรู้จักฝึกฝนให้มีน้ำใจเป็นนักกีฬา รู้แพ้ รู้ชนะ รู้อภัย

การจัดกิจกรรมดังกล่าว มีบุคคลสำคัญที่เข้าร่วมคือ อธิการบดีมหาวิทยาลัย Binoria International University อธิการบดี Greenwich University กงสุลใหญ่มาเลเซีย รักษาการกงสุลใหญ่อินโดนีเซีย ประธานสมาคมมิตรภาพและธุรกิจไทย–ปากีสถาน และผู้แทนจากบริษัทการบินไทย เข้าร่วมและให้การสนับสนุนการจัดกิจกรรม

On 18 September 2025, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Karachi, in collaboration with the Thai Student Association in Karachi and Greenwich University, organized the “Karachi International Student Friendly Football Tournament 2025.” The tournament brought together international students from various countries, with eight teams participating, including Indonesia, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan (2 teams), and Thailand (3 teams).

The objective of the tournament was to encourage Thai students to engage in extracurricular activities, while also promoting friendship and cultural exchange with international students through football.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Surashete Boontinand, Consul General of Thailand in Karachi, highlighted the role of football as a bridge for building friendships and unity among students from different countries. He emphasized that beyond competition, the tournament should be a celebration of teamwork and mutual respect, reminding participants to play with kindness, upholding true sportsmanship, and value both victory and defeat with dignity.

The event was honored by the presence of the President of Binoria International University, the President of Greenwich University, the Consul General of Malaysia, the Acting Consul General of Indonesia, the President of the Thai-Pakistan Friendship association and Business Forum, and representatives from Thai Airways.
